Expert Answers about Acura ATV Ramps

  • Will ATV Ramps Interfere with the Topline Bed Extender on a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado
  • The Topline Bed Extender, # BX4004-02, will likely interfere with ATV ramps if it is left on your tailgate. The good news is that this bed extender is easily removable. The bed extender attaches to the side brackets with two release pins. Simply remove the release pins to move the bed extender out of the way when you load your ATV. I do not recommend leaving the bed extender attached when you load your ATV. Check out the installation video that I have attached for this bed extender. We...

  • Where to Run Ignition Switch Wire from ATV Winch Rocker Switch if Installed on a Trailer
  • The ignition switch wire on the Superwinch ATV winch # 1120210 requires a 12 volt connection. Basically it is designed to only let power go through the switch when the ignition is powered on. Since you are not using it on an ATV it would have to be connected directly to a constant 12 volt source. There isn't any other way unless you first ran that wire to a different switch, such as # PK34213. When off it would be as if an ATV was off. When on it would be as if the ATV was running.

  • Where Does The Red Rocker Switch Wire Attach To When Installing SuperWinch LT2000?
  • When installing the Superwinch LT2000 ATV Winch # 1120210 on atv's or offroad vehicles, the red wire on the rocker switch typically connects to a wire that gets power only when the ignition switch is turned on. When using this winch on a trailer or other application that does not have an ignition switch, you can just run it to the positive terminal on the battery that it is connected to and install a toggle switch in between so that you can switch the winch on and off, then actually control...

  • Maximum Run Time of Superwinch Terra 45 ATV Winch
  • The Superwinch Terra 45 ATV Winch SW1145220 has a maximum continuous run time of two minutes. It will require cooling after that, though there is not a specified period of time which is required. Superwinch says "several minutes" and notes that the ambient temperature will be a factor, with less cooling time needed in cooler weather. In regards to operation, the Superwinch Terra 45 only requires a 12 volt DC charge such as a car battery so you will be able to use it but running out of...

  • Is Steel Backing Plate Needed to Install Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit
  • The installation method you mention for the # EM09160 Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit should be sufficient to hold down your 800 lb ATV, but I'd personally feel better if you could tie in to a metal crossmember under the trailer decking or use a backing plate like # e96RR. The backing plate is made by a different manufacturer so the holes won't match up perfectly. You'll need to drill a new set of holes in each plate. I'm a big believer in overkill, and by using a backing plate, you'll...

  • Using The E-Track Trailer Cargo Control # EM59150 On Trailer To Secure ATVs and Motorcycles
  • Installing the E-Track Trailer Cargo Control, part # EM59150, would work well to strap down your ATVs and motorcycles on your V-nose trailer. You could mount the E-Track sideways or perpendicular to the trailer frame over the floor as you described. The E-Track can also be mounted on the wall of trailers, so perhaps you could mount the track for the ATVs on the floor towards the front of the trailer. Then you could mount track on the trailer walls for the motorcycles or on the floor as...
